
Profile of Francis S. Bakpo (Ph.D)
BAKPO, Francis Sunday is a Professor of Computer Science in the Faculty of Physical Sciences, University of Nigeria Nsukka. He holds a PhD degree in Computer Engineering from Enugu State University of Science and Technology (2008). He was Coordinator, Computer/Statistics (Sandwich) BSc. Programme (2000 to 2003), Coordinator, Computer and Basic Physical Sciences (2003 to 2007), Head of Department, Computer Science (2013/2014 to 2016/2017), Head of Department, Computer Science (2022/2023 to 2023/2024),
Chairman and member of various National University Commissions (NUC) Ad-hoc Accreditation Panels from 2014 till date, Director, Roar Nigeria Hub, UNN (2017 till date), Director, Computing Centre, UNN (September 2024 till date). Under my leadership, the Roar Nigeria Hub has successfully trained 31 Start-ups research outputs and produced 5 innovation Cohorts as well as received 8 accolades and awards of various amounts: $5,000, N2m, $5,000, $1,000, N2m and N5m, respectively. Professor F. S. Bakpo has published sixty five peer -reviewed journal articles, and conference proceeding papers in his research areas. He was appointed a full professor in 2010. He has taught full-time for 28 years. He has also successfully supervised thirty three (33) PhDs and more than 40 M.Sc candidates. He is currently supervising more than 15 PhDs. He has served as external adjudicator to 61 PhD and 63 MSc candidates from various Universities, local and international (India). He is dully registered professionally as member Nigeria Computer Society, MNCS, Computer professional of Nigeria, MCPN and member International Association of Engineers, MIAENG.

Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity and Petri nets theory/applications.
